Home for the Holidays Session

Sharing just a couple from this session right now. This was suppose to be an outdoor session this morning, but with 32 degree temps and wind, we moved it to the studio at the last minute. I LOVE having an indoor place to shoot larger groups now. I will try to share more from this session after Christmas, when I have more time.

~Updates~

The good news---the studio is almost done! I picked up the carpet for the changing room/bathroom last night, baseboards are being painted and installed today, wood floor is down and painting is done! I still need to order my displays for the windows. I have a canvas wrap around display for the inside already, but will be ordering more for the interior walls. I have my first scheduled shoot there the 22nd of December. I am excited!

The not so good news---It will be pushing it to get the Christmas mini sessions done and back before Christmas. My lab has slowed down a bit, as have UPS. So, I will not be having them this year. BUT, look out for some things in January! I will be having a "Black and White" mini session day (all photos will be timeless black and whites!) and a "Valentine Portrait Day" toward the end of January (prints will be back in time for Valentines).

Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We did. I enjoyed 4 days off of work :), but back at it today. I even got some of my Christmas shopping done this weekend!
I have a move in date for the studio~December 10th! The floor is suppose to be finished by then. SO, I will be able to have some sessions there after that date. I am in the process now of transferring some of my props and lighting over there.
If all comes together, I am hoping to do a Christmas mini session day (children only, no families). I will post the date and info as soon as I know for sure.
After the first of the year, I will have an open house at the studio. I am just so excited to get settled in it! We have most of the painting done (still have 2 walls left in the back room, but that's it). I need to get my displays for the windows ordered and put up. I will have much more space. I will be able to do larger groups, as well as some team sports in studio now.
The address for the studio is 306 S. Central. It is between 3rd and 4th street on Central. (It was the old "Salon Central" building, if that helps any).

Christmas Deadlines

Well, Christmas is fast approaching! I am still getting quite a few calls/emails for Christmas portraits. SO, I am extending the deadline for sessions to December 5th. However, these will have to be more of a "mini session", one background and no clothing changes. ($35.00 session fee instead of $65.00). Proofs will be ready within 2 days and then your order MUST be placed within 2 days to get them by Christmas. There are limited slots available, and they will be booked first come, first serve.
I will still be taking appointments for regular sessions throughout December (with the exception of Dec. 19th-Jan.1st). But, these photos will most likely be delivered after Christmas.

Brown eyes!

See, I really do photograph kids with brown eyes lol! This little one has such big, beautiful brown eyes! And, yes, his brother has beautiful blue eyes!
These were done outside at their home (just enjoying a bit of this gorgeous weather we have been having!). We did some family shots and some with their Grandma and Grandpa too. The little one kept running under the the trampoline wanting me to take his photo "UNDER" meaning under the trampoline haha, what a sweetie. Hey, as long as there is good lighting, I will take the photo anywhere :). So, this photo was actually taken under his trampoline lol!

Christmas Portraits

A few portraits from yesterday. This cranberry colored backdrop is becoming a favorite of mine! I think the candy canes are becoming a favorite of the kids! They all want to use them! I have to thank Kevin for letting me borrow his very old wooden sled! (Thanks, dear!)

After all the Christmas sessions lately (and to come!), this was a nice change. (But ya all know I LOVE the Christmas sessions too, don't get me wrong haha!) I love first birthday shoots too!
Even though he didn't like his cake (can you believe it!!), he was fun to photograph again!

New updates!

Well, work on the new studio has begun! I am so excited! My name is now on the front of the building and looks great (thanks to Veronica and some bartering!!)
My new website is up and about finished (just click on "website" above!).
I do have a new session fee that will be in effect for all sessions scheduled after November 24th and new pricing that will be in effect starting December 1st. You can find all this info on the website under pricing. I will have a complete list of pricing with all available sizes, finishes and mountings at the studio. There are so many different options for custom photography. I want you to have exactly what you want to have. Need something not listed? Just ask! I can make up just about anything in any size you want.
As soon as the studio is finished, I will be having an open house. I will post more info about that closer to the date, but I would love to have you come and check out the new studio!
I only have just a couple of openings left for Christmas portraits. All sessions will need to be done by November 24th to ensure Christmas delivery. I will still be doing sessions in December (and will hopefully be in the new studio!) but, will not guarantee Christmas delivery. I will be taking some time off in December to spend some time with my family too.
